Day 1: Arrival – Depart for Kibale Forest

Drive early in the morning approximately 6 hours to Kibale Forest National Park, the park with the highest concentration of Primates with over 10 primate species counted including the black and white colobus, red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, the Chimpanzees among others. This is the best spot in the world to view the closest cousins of Human beings, the chimpanzees that are believed to be 98% human. Overnight at primate lodge. Meal Plan (FB)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking

Report to the ranger station in Kibale Forest National Park at 8am after breakfast and thereafter, enter the forest to track the habituated chimps. In the forest are a network of shady forest trails which provide much pleasure to botanists and butterfly lovers. The forest boosts a total 335 species recorded. The elusive forest elephant is sited moving seasonally in the forest. Other terrestrial mammals in the forest include; the giant forest hog, buffalo, plus a half dozen of antelope species. After this delightful experience, return to the Lodge for relaxation, in the afternoon, if you have energy, go for a walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary with an opportunity to see a diversity of birdlife. Day 3: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth national Park, the park that boost the highest biodiversity rating of any game park in the world with its, dense swamps, beautiful crater lakes, open savannah and rain forest. The park is gifted wit almost 100 species of mammals including the elephants, buffaloes, lion, leopards, giant forest hog, and hippos, among others. The park has got an outstanding 606 bird species including; black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl, African skimmer, martial eagle. Primates found in Queen Elizabeth National Park includes; the chimps, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus, red colobus. Reaching Mweya with an enroute Game Drive early for lunch.
In the afternoon, take the 2 hours Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George, one of the most exciting activities in Uganda with a chance to see a huge population of Hippos and Crocodiles in water while elephants, waterbucks and buffaloes grazing on the banks of the channel as well as an array of birdlife including; the kingfishers, Egyptian fish eagle, saddle billed stork, among others. Return to the lodge for dinner. Dinner and overnight at Ihamba Safari lodge (FB)

Day 4: Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, depart for an Early morning game drive expecting to see Climbing lions, leopard, Uganda Kob, warthog, giant forest hog, elephants, hippos from grazing going back to water, going through the crater lakes and dry craters visiting the Salt Lake lunch at the lodge, afternoon drive out of the park to Bwindi Impenetrable National park through the Isasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the area is famed for its tree climbing lions. Possibly on this day after the Game drive, you will depart to Jacana Safari lodge where a number of monkey including red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus, baboons and velvet monkeys are regularly sighted in trees, near the lake and even in the restaurant waiting for someone to throw a piece of yellow banana for them. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the park that hosts over half of the world’s remaining population of the Mountain Gorillas. The park also inhabits about 348 bird species with the park hosting about 24 of the 26 Albertine endemics found in Uganda. Overnight at Silver back Lodge Meal plan Full Board.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a hearty breakfast, report to the ranger station at 8:00 am and enter the gorilla sanctuary with the ranger guides for the most interesting activity in the world, Gorilla Tracking. The tracking activity takes between half an hour to about 5 hours thus, a steady pair of walking shoes is recommended as well as a reasonable degree of fitness. Sit in the dense rain forest for an hour hearing these delightful mountain gorillas grumble at each other. Return to the Lodge and if you have the afternoon free, take a guided nature walk in the Forest. Overnight at Silver back Lodge Meal plan Full Board.

Day 6: Bwindi- Lake Mburo National Park

Early breakfast in preparation for the journey to Lake Mburo National park via Kabale- Mbarara route. You reach at Acardia Cottages early midday for lunch. Lake Mburo National park is home to zebras, impalas, waterbucks and other animals of the antelope family. A leopard is occasionally spotted outside the last two cottages on a moonlit night making Arcadia Cottages Lake Mburo even more magical.
You will make an evening game drive; note this small park is known for its a rare animals and bird species which include Zebras, commonly known as African equids (horse family), their black and white stripes make them distinctive and are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds, Impala meaning a gazelle in the Zulu Language, buffaloes and over three hundred (300) birds. After the game drive you will retire to Arcadia cottages for Dinner and overnight.

Important to note: The Lake can be viewed from the restaurant and is home to hippos that walk up to the restaurant at night and graze right outside the cottages.

Day 7: Lake Mburo – Kampala

Early breakfast, in preparation for the morning Game drive and after which you will start on the journey back to Kampala. Make a Stopover at the equator in Masaka for your souvenir shopping, photo shooting and possibly for tea/ coffee break or lunch and have an informative talk before proceeding to Kampala then your Transfer to the Airport for the Flight.
