This 5 Days Uganda-Rwanda primate safari begins and ends in Uganda.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: transfer from Kampala to Rwanda
Early morning start for Rwanda from your Kampala hotel at 5:00am. Have a brief stop over for photos at the equator and breakfast stop over enroute. Drive through Mbarara and Kabale with lunch enroute. Drive to volcanoes national park checking in for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Mountain Gorilla View Hotel/Kinigi Guest House/ Muhavura lodge.

Day 2: gorilla tracking in Volcanoes national park 
Early morning start after breakfast to reach Ruhengeri park headquarters for the 7:00 a.m briefing. Proceed to the Gorilla sanctuary to embark on your tracking expedition. If you are lucky it will only take you an hour to locate the habituated gorillas. Under such circumstances you will spend an hour with them and return to your base for a late lunch. However, in other circumstances, tracking can last upto 6 hours. It is therefore advisable, to carry along a picnic lunch and plenty of water. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the gorillas. Successful trackers are awarded certificates at the end of this challenging but worthwhile experience. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Mountain Gorilla View Hotel/Kinigi Guest House/ Muhavura lodge.

Day 3: leave for Bwindi
After breakfast, you will drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Bwindi. Have lunch enroute and check in for dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort/lake Kitandara camp/Buhoma community bandas.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, report to the park head quarters for briefing. A park official will brief you on gorilla tracking rules necessary for the gorilla and your safety. Tracking time will depend on the movement of the habituated gorillas. Sometimes it takes just an hour to reach the gorillas but at other times even up to 6 hours. It is therefore advisable to carry picnic lunch and plenty of water prior to the tracking. Maximum time you can spend with the gorillas is one hour. In the afternoon you can have an optional guided walk on the Munyaga River trail, which is an ideal short walk. This trail leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, and there is a profusion of tree ferns, epiphytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s   of butterflies. Here you may also see birds and primates from the Forest edge. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort/lake Kitandara camp/Buhoma community bandas.

Day 5: Back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kampala; arriving in the late evening ending your safari.
