This 3 days Wildlife safari takes you to Kidepo National Park, one of the best savanna national parks in East Africa. This trip is a luxury safari and you will travel by Air to the park. The park is located approximately 220 kilometers (140 mi), northwest of Moroto. Voted as the best national park in Africa by CNN, Kidepo Valley National Park offers the one of the most memorable game viewing experience in East Africa. The park lies along the international frontier with South Sudan in Kaabong District. It is 1,442 square kilometres in size. It hosts over 86 mammal species and about 500 bird species.

The park consists of the two major valley systems of the Kidepo and Narus Rivers, with tepid hotspring as the key source of water in the park. You can spot lions that may be sitting on the valley’s various rocks. Other wildlife includes elephants, leopard, bush duiker, jackal, bushbuck, bush pig, ostrich, buffalo and much more, in the wild Narus Valley.

A Hike to the Lomej Mountains walks through the Narus Vally, where you meet members of the endangered IK tribe and wander the splendid Kidepo River Valley between banks of borassus palm forest.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kidepo National park

Breakfast, be picked from your residence and transfer to kajjansi Airstrip. Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park located in the north-eastern corner of Uganda. On arrival at Apoka Airstrip transfer to the Apoka Game Lodge. Have lunch on arrival. In the afternoon go for a game drive where you will spot lions, cheetah, leopard, bat-eared fox, giraffe, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, lesser kudu, Chandlers Mountain reedbuck, klipspringer, dikdik and bright gazelle, Beisa Oryx and roan antelope among others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing

You will go for a full day of game viewing within Kidepo Valley National Park. There is a lot of animals within the park including big game such as elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, cheetahs etc. Have picnic lunch and in the afternoon visit the Karamong local communities. During the visit, enjoy the culture and the local food. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 3: Kidepo National Park – Kampala

Early breakfast, drive back to the airstrip and fly back to Kajjansi. Drop off will be at a place of your choice in Kampala or at the airport for your departure flight.
