Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park

Breakfast, be picked from your residence and drive or fly to Kibale National Park. The park is about 766 km2 in size with primarily moist evergreen forest and contains a diverse array of landscapes. It is in the Southern part of Uganda in Kabarole and Kamwenge districts and about, 320 kilometres from Kampala.

About 325 species of birds like olive long-tailed cuckoo, Western Green tinker bird, African and Green-breasted and African Grey Parrot, 13 species of primates, a total of at least 60 other species of mammals, and over 250 tree species have found this a perfect home. It is home to a large number of endangered chimpanzees other primates including the red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey, Uganda Mangabey, the Ugandan Red Colobus, and the L’Hoest’s Monkey. Other mammals include red and blue duikers, bush pigs, warthogs, buffalo and elephants. Various types of buffer flies and reptiles have found this tropical forest, savannah, the woodland as well as the diverse altitude a perfect home. Have lunch on arrival and then go for a community or forest walk. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Chimp trekking

Go for a briefing at the park headquarters. Later begin the trek. Other animals might be spotted while tracking chimps and these may include the red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey, Uganda Mangabey, the Ugandan Red Colobus, and the L’Hoest’s Monkey, red and blue duikers, bush pigs, warthogs, buffalo and elephants. Various birds can also be spotted while on the trek. You will return to the lodge have lunch and the afternoon can be spent at leisure or by visiting Bigodi wetland or other places of interest in Fort Portal town. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge

Day 3: Chimpanzee habituation experience

Breakfast with packed lunch you will go for a full day to be with the chimps. This helps the chimps try to get used to Humans. You will not only be with the chimps, but will get to see other animals like elephants, bush pigs, buffaloes and many bird species that live in this forest. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Kibale National Park – Kampala

Early breakfast, drive or fly back to Kampala. You will have a few stopovers en-route. You will be dropped off at a place of your choice in Kampala or at the airport.
