6 DAYS AMBOSELLI, TSAVO AND SWARA PLAINS

Day 1: arrival in Nairobi

On your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport you will be received by our safari driver/guide. From cycads safaris transfer you to Nairobi hotel of your choice for dinner and overnight.

Day 2&3: Amboselli national park

After breakfast you head south east of Nairobi towards Amboseli National Park. Amboselli’s  beauty lies in the vast wildlife it has to offer like the elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, impalas, Grant's gazelles and elands with the backdrop of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro. You will spend 2 days here on game drives and birding tours where your guide will also help you spot birds like vultures, Eagles, Bustards, Sandgrouses, Ground Hornbills, Rosy-breasted Long claw, Sooty Chat, Falcons, Barn Owl, Spotted Redshank, Temminck's Stint, Saddle-billed Stork and the hyperactive Black Crake. 2 nights at Kibo Tented camp. Days 4&5: Tsavo national park

Have breakfast and proceed to Kenya’s largest national park, Tsavo driving through open bush country dotted with acacia trees. This park is divided into Tsavo West and East by the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Have an opportunity to compare different appearances of similar species of wildlife just because of living in different habitats. The elephants of Tsavo are of a redder color than those of Amboseli. In Amboseli you can sight elephant families in the open plains while in Tsavo elephant families unexpectedly emerge from the bush. Enjoy two whole days of extended but relaxed game drives looking out for all the big game and cats as well as plains game such as zebras, gazelles and giraffes. Check in for 2 nights at the Severin Safari Camp, a luxury tented camp with superb sightings on the surrounding hills. (FB)

Day 6: to Swara plains

Leave Tsavo after breakfast and head back to Nairobi stopping at the Swara Plains conservancy for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive to view big herds of oryx, elands, wildebeests, giraffes, monkeys, hartebeests, zebras, impalas, Grant's and Thompson's gazelles, warthogs and the occasional gerenuk (= Giraffe-neck gazelle). Leave the ranch for the airport in the evening ending your safari by meeting your home flight.
