5 DAYS MOUNT KENYA wTREK

Enjoy the spectacular scenery of forest moorland and glaciers at this high elevation. Encounter different wildlife like the Colobus monkey, elephant or buffalo as you trek. This walk takes you up the mountain via the climbing Mount Kenya Sirimon route with unforgettable scenes of the diverse vegetation. You will also have an opportunity to touch ice and snow on the equator!

Day 1:  to Nanyuki

In the morning you will leave Nairobi driving north accompanied by your mountain guide. After a two and a half-hours drive, arrive in Nanyuki where you will spend the night in one of the lodges at the foot of Mt. Kenya.

Day 2: Sirimon track

After breakfast have a short drive to the Sirimon track to start your trek. Walk to Old Moses Camp (5 hours walk). Overnight at old Moses Camp (3,400m).

Day 3: Mackinders Valley

After breakfast hike via Mackinders Valley to Shipton's Camp (5 hours walk). Dinner and overnight at Shipton's Camp (4,200m).

Day 4: Point Lenana

Early in the morning you will start your climb to Point Lenana (4,985m) .On a very clear day you should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the South. From the top walk down to the Meteorological Station (6-7 hours walk).  Dinner and overnight at the Meteorological Station bandas.

Day 5: Nairobi

After a morning walk to the park head quarters we will return to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.
