10 DAYS KENYA CLASSIC WILDLIFE SAFARI

Visit the slopes of Mt. Kenya, Samburu, Aberdares, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara national parks.

Day 01: Arrive Nairobi

Our Cycads safari driver will meet you on your arrival in Nairobi, Kenya's vibrant capital. You will then be transferred to your hotel for orientation and reception. Overnight and dinner at Nairobi Safari Club.

Day 02: Nairobi - Mt. Kenya - Samburu

Have an early breakfast and drive northward to the Central Highlands where you cross the Equator as you approach majestic Mt. Kenya, a dormant volcano with a glistering cap of snow and ice. After a stop over for lunch, continue your drive to Samburu National Reserve in Kenya's semi-desert, rugged northern frontier. Enroute to your lodge enjoy your first evening game-viewing drive. Settle into your comfortable lodge in the heart of the reserve in time for dinner at Samburu Lodge.

Day 03: Samburu national park
An early morning game drive may reward you with views of crocodile, hippo, the peculiar Grevy's zebra, the long necked gerenuk antelope, the shy Beisa Oryx and the Somali ostrich. Leopard, cheetah and lion are also found in the reserve. Have morning and evening game drives because this is when the animals are most active. Keep your camera ready, your guide will lead you in search of the animals and you'll have plenty of opportunities to photograph your sightings. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax by the sparkling pool. Later this afternoon venture out on additional game viewing.

Day 04: to Aberdares national park

After breakfast leave Samburu Reserve. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at Outspan hotel before heading into the Aberdares National Park, a wonderland of dense forests, tumbling waterfalls and abundant wildlife like waterbuck, duiker, suni, dik-dik, eland, bushbuck and reedbuck. Check into the famous Treetops Lodge, built on stilts in the middle of the thick forest. From the rooftop balcony or through ground level blinds you may watch the animals arriving at the floodlit waterhole and saltlicks throughout the evening and night. Dinner and overnight at Treetops Lodge.

Day 05: to Lake Nakuru

Leave Aberdares after breakfast and journey southwest stopping over to view the beautiful Nyahururu Falls. Travel along the magnificent Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru, exclusively known for its vast population of pink flamingos. Game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya's finest rhino sanctuaries and admire the greater and lesser flamingos and other abundant birds dancing along the lake's shoreline. Arrive at your lodge, overlooking the lake. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

 

Day 06: boat ride on Lake Naivasha

Have breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru and drive through the Rift Valley en route to Lake Naivasha.  Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the lake after which you will have lunch. Leave Lake Naivasha and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. This park is rich in biodiversity with vast wildlife, birds, natural flora and stunning scenic beauty. Arrive at your lodge, ideally located on the banks of the Talek River surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. Tonight enjoy a traditional performance of tribal dances by local Masai Warriors. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 07: Masai Mara

Early morning and evening game drives today will give you opportunities to view wildlife like lion, cheetah, hippo, crocodile, zebra, giraffe, elephant, wildebeest and impala. In between game drives, relax at your comfortable lodge, take a dip in the pool and enjoy the delicious food served. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 08: Masai Mara

An early morning hot air balloon ride will give you a vast aerial view of the whole park. You can view big quantities of early risers on this trip. This is an opportunity to also take aerial photos of the game an exhilarating experience. Have your breakfast prepared on a burner in the balloon on landing. Alternatively visit the local Masai Village where you will learn more about their culture and customs. You can also have afternoon and evening game drives in search of the Big Five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the much rarer rhino.

  • Hot air balloon Safari: US$ 425 per person
  • Visit to a local Maasai village: US$ 25 per person
  • Nature walk: US$ 45 per person
  • Optional day fishing expedition to Lake Victoria: US$ 475 per person

Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 09: to Nairobi

Have an early morning game drive. After breakfast at the lodge, drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Have a cocktail lunch at the world’s famous Carnivore Restaurant for succulent game meat. Transfer to Nairobi Safari Club for overnight lodging.

Day 10: Departure
Full day can be spent on excursions in the city with time for shopping, visits to colorful local markets displaying unique African souvenirs. Transfer to the airport for your return flight home ending your safari.
