Uganda Flying Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This is a 3 day private flying safari taking you for mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest National park. From Bwindi National park there are several habituated mountain gorilla families and all groups are pretty good for tracking these great apes. Apart from gorilla tracking, the safari will also involve you in a number of other activities that include nature walks, primate walks, birding, and local community visits to the local communities living around the park.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Kayonza Air strip
Picked from your Hotel and board your private charter plane to Kayonza Airstrip. Your safari guide will meet you at Kayonza and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla.  Bwindi is a habitat to 326 Gorillas almost half of the Worlds population of Mountain Gorillas. The forest has about 30 elephants and 120 species of mammals including 7 diurnal primates. 360 species of birds and over 200 species of butterflies. This Afro -montane forest has dense under storey of fern, vines, and shrubs. About 324 tree species have been recorded here, of which 10 don't occur else in Uganda. Tonight you will sleep to the sounds of the mountain rainforest!  Check in and have some time to relax, then take a forest walk. The park has four outlandish hiking trails. On all these trails, you have opportunities to see and learn about primates, many species of birds, butterflies, trees, and other organisms.   Overnight at a luxurious Gorilla Resort/budget Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 2: Mountain  Gorilla Trekking
This morning, you will be walking up in the steep densely forested hills. In this thick and humid forest you almost have to cut your way through the undergrowth but finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring moment. Imagine coming less than 5 metres close to these primates. It won’t be easy but it certainly will be worth it.   Tracking in Bwindi requires stamina and can often take most of the day. If you have the energy, you will go for an afternoon village walk to see how Ugandans live!

Day 3 : Fly Back to Kayonza / Entebbe

Transfer to Kayonza Airstrip to meet your private charter plane to Entebbe Airport.
